Humans or Consumers?

We are both matter and spirit, upon that most agree, but we have moved to one extreme of this duality, materialism over the last 200 years. This polarization is evident and more extreme today. The watchword is "WANT." We want endlessly. We are constantly wanting and getting, and wanting more, and killing (literally and figuretively) if we can't get it. The reptile portion of the brain, the old survival brain, seems to have gone on its own way.

Shattering the scientific myths

Dr. Bruce Lipton taught cell biology at University of Wisconsin’s School of Medicine, did much of his intitial research work at Stanford University, and has taught at many schools and universities since tries to shatter the popular misconceptions.

Bruce Lipton explains the working of certain proteins that act like on-off switchs to DNA. Environmental factors and our own beliefs are sets of switches where the input determines the outcome.  Changing your life requires making different choices. This is known as epigenetics.

Time Magazine ran a special mind-body issue and the cover story was “How Faith Can Heal.” The main article is The Biology of Belief. A question and answer forum of three experts (Faith & Healing: A Forum by Alice Parks)  discuss the role that belief should play in science.
